Crowing
Maybe it is the moon I had two go at it this morning as well. The cream Legbar was messing with a black copper Marans through the wire, the Marans is only 6 months but he nailed the Legbar a couple of good ones.

I wonder if it’s the weather, the moon... or just boys being boys, but my two went at it last weekend for the first time. We were outside when they started, but I told my husband they would work it out. After a few minutes, they were still like two boxers in a ring and I noticed blood. At that point I pulled the little guy out and cleaned up the blood. I put him back on the roost after dark, and they were fine the next couple days, but luckily I was able to rehome the younger one with my aunt & her 11 ladies. It really shook me up! Vetericyn and styptic powder were really helpful.
I use it frequently, but as suggested, is does not cause irritation as the alcohol evaporates very quickly.Only thing I'd add is I would not use Blu Kote as it contains alcohol (Great for other things), which inhibits cell growth. There are plenty of alternatives.
Oh I use it all the time, only thing I can seem to keep on hand and current.I use it frequently, but as suggested, is does not cause irritation as the alcohol evaporates very quickly.
I thought I would break up one fence fight taking place... by causing a distraction like sticking my foot between them...They got into one physical altercation that I was able to break up quickly. I decided right then and there I was not going to keep breaking up rooster fights.
Agreed.. and true for both genders here.but any rooster that continues to flog another bird that has submitted gets a one way ticket to freezer camp on my farm.
Yep~they can put a hurt on you big time!I thought I would break up one fence fight taking place... by causing a distraction like sticking my foot between them...my very best rooster and not human aggressive.. Boy did I learn my lesson... My leg got hit (felt like being punched) full force with spurs.. he wasn't aware or care that it was me. He was facing off with intent toward the other boy. I got some puncture wounds that bruised up pretty good and made my leg muscle uncomfortable for several days. Gave me new respect for the harm such a small animal could inflict.
That being my own stupidity, was not held against him.
Agreed.. and true for both genders here.![]()
