Hi there! We paid $25 a piecw for laying hens but the longer we have them the more convinced I am they are ALL roosters. This is my first go at a backyard flock so I am looking for someone to help me confirm. The black one is supposed to be an Americauna and the other is supposed to be an olive egger. They were 3/12 month old when we got them and are now 6 months. Both are mounting and doing the wing dance but only one is crowing. The answer may be obvious but I was really hoping to be wrong.

Get your money back. At 3 months old, the breeder knew those were cockerels.
I feel quite taken advantage of. I have called her once to tell her that the first two of the four we got were roosters and then called again to let her know that last ones were also. She offered me sell me two confirmed hens for her discounted rate of another $25/hen. She will not be getting my business.

I wouldn't pay $25 for a hen unless it was from a good breeder or it was a rare breed. I paid $28 for my Cream Legbar. But olive eggers/easter eggers I have only paid like
$3-7. I feel you have been taken advantage of for sure.

Hello There,

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!! Thanks for joining, nice to meet you.

I am sorry... But I agree with getting your money back. There is nothing wrong with them, they are very handsome roosters! But it will probably start in aggression and I am not sure if you are supposed to have them in your area.
I refuse to say sorry for them being roosters- I truly would love a rooster of those colors! You are lucky about that. But it's sad to see you were ripped off.

Have a nice evening, I really hope this helps you. It is fully your decision on whether you'll keep one or both; or get your money back for both.

Sincerely,
-The Angry Hen
