Roosters?

I’ve got a couple of chicks that I’m not sure about. One is a buff Orpington(pretty sure) and the other I’m not so sure about. I’m thinking it’s a black tailed Maran. They are both 8 weeks old. They have decent sized combs but they don’t seem to be as red as my barred rock that I’m positive is a rooster. Thoughts?

Both are cockerels. "Marans" is a crossbred.

Did you buy pullets or straight run?

We hatched eggs at my school. They were from a hatchery. This is my first run with raising chicks. I’ve always only gotten full grown.

Right? Iv'e been hatching for yeeears and i'm jazzed over three out of eight.
