Roosting bar in brooder ideas?

Hi!
My chicks are 3 weeks old and two like to roost on the edge of the cardboard box they are in that's inside a wire dog crate. I want to put a roosting bar in, but am not sure what I can use. Ty for any ideas and pics if you have them!

I have used store bought perches and used tree limb cut to size

I started with a 1x4 made into an upper case ' I ' shape when they were little. Didn't use it much, but it was something fun to hop on.

When they were a little bigger I made a roost out of a 2x2 with 2x4 feet to keep it stable.

They are days away from outside now, but currently they are using a 2x4 stuck through some holes in the cardboard box (about 12" off the floor)

I have six chicks in my brooder. I thought one roost was too small, so I put in two. One is a stick I cut from the yard, and the other is a pice of 1"x1" wood I had around. The chicks will roost on both, but they seem to prefer the stick.

I found a stick in my garage and put it in there. I haven't seen them use it yet, so may try a stick to see if they prefer that. Thanks again!
