Ok my chickens now like to roost in the top of the coop,so much for the roost I built for them...lol

I'm guessing I should block this off somehow to keep them from roosting up there? I have wires up there and my auto pop door controls are to.

I blocked my rafters off with chicken wire stapled along the bottom of the rafters. I wouldn't have had a huge issue with them roosting up there but worried about the leap down in the morning (the rafters are more than 8' in the air). I really didn't want to deal with foot and leg injuries.

My highest roost right now is about 5.5' up. the LOVE it. I am somewhat concerned about injuries but, I figure I'll wait and see. If somebody gets injured then I'll have to lower it. If not then they have a roost they love and I'll build another at that height. They do have about 4-5' to "fly" down in. It is comical watching them fly off. They "aim" for the furthest corner from them. Every one kind of hits the wall and floor at the same time, gets up, gives a quick shake to put feathers back into place then moves away for the next one to follow.
