Rose growers thread!

This could be considered a plug, but I would not want any to suffer for not getting roses. However, sign up for their email speciald.if you want. They had all their roses half price to ship anywhere about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The server crashed it got so many hits. Also you get their catalog every year.. which I so drool over and also keep for referece material as they have so MANY kinds and some are not always available. Pretty pretty pictures. I kinda go into a stupor after looking at them.

I taught them. I would catch the JBs and feed them to the girls while making my treat sound. Worked very quickly. Then as they follow me in the garden, I show them the beetles and make the same sound. They learn very quickly when food is a motivator.
I learned this from another rose person, and it is really fast and easy. I also promise them extra free-range time for hunting, lol.

Rachel, you are fortunate to live near such a great nursery. I would probably go broke, lol! I grow many of the same roses, and adore fragrance. How do you find Mary Magdaline? I would like to try her.

Cool!

Well my roses are surviving the drought, that is about it. I don't know the names of them, but I have 4 different types, one would take over the world if I let it.

I had been babying 2 rose bushes that were not doing well for 3 years. They were surviving and even had some blooms, until my neighbor mowed them down.

wow, 3 years? I know there are varieties that will grow anywhere and bloom like crazy, maybe you just have the wrong variety for your climate? I want to know the name of the hardy one, please!

I have no idea, but if you want some once it cools down I can send you some. It is a very pretty pink flower, multi petal blooms. It only blooms in the spring here, on 2nd year growth.
