probably oegbs ?

Holy Cow, Matt!! That roo looks as good if not better than mine. He could use a bit more of an upward curve on his spike and some wider tail feathers... His sickles are great! I really like his huge lobes too. Many breeders are going for more delicate features on their hens which effect lobe size drastically. The standard calls for a nice sized lobe like that. ...They could be rounder but, they're not bad. I don't think I've ever seen a male with perfectly round lobes... it's kind of the elusive holy grail.

Nice

eta: the hen didn't manage to get herself in any really desirable positions. I would say your little pullet will grow out nicer than her. Her tail is nothing great and her comb is small and straight.. I can't really see her "type". Her lobes are big but mishapen...

Your male is looking great Matt! Erin how many rosecombs are you taking to the show? I think I entered two or three rosecombs because my birds are curretl molting or haven't molted yet and are out of condition

Pen 1: Best Black Rosecomb Rooster paired with 3 Lavender OEGB Hens.

Pen 2: Lavender OEGB Rooster paired with the Best 3 Black Rosecomb Hens I can find.

Pen 3: Same as pen 2 but with 3 different hens.

Please let me know what you think!

Hannah, Im taking 5 RC's. Mine have been freeranging all year and one roo is regrowing his tail but, I still would like the judge to see him and give me a better idea of head quality. See ya there!! Im so excited

Matt, Im glad you're starting with so many pens. It will be so beneficial to your genetic diversity later in the program. Can't wait to see the oegb's. do you have an idea of where to look?

Joe Sharmer, a guy who lives close to me he has them and I am going to ask him today if he will let me use 5 of his birds for a project. I feel he will but I need to ask.
