Just looking at the birds, I would say they are the first cross due to the hackle fade on the pullets. How does the comb look on the cockerel?

Its a little wide

I would say they are for sure the first cross.

Let me take a look at my schedule, for teh Pullets I would like 2 with very good earlobes, wide deep breast, and a good tail set. I will need those features for what i am trying to accomplish.
I assume these are either Benny Dean or Bennet birds? I really like benny's males and teh bennet's produce some fine birds both ways.

I Have only 1 bennet hen that I bought from Benny this fall. She has a falling ear lobe. Did not realize it when I bought her. She does a very good body.
All of my other birds are Pure Rick Hare. I have never introduced any other blood lines in my birds. Buying the hen from Benny was a mistake.

i won't complain about Rick's birds either... I think I like the cockrell in Trio 2 better, can you take a good look at the pullets and pick the two that have the best lobe, and body width and post or e-mail pics to me from top, front, and side views?

e-mail is [email protected] or just post on here, the more activity here and pictures may also help drive a few more folks to the breed. Then we just need to get them to join the federation.

Not a problem. I will go out and try to get some good pictures of the best pullets. I have different ages out there, which, I am sure you can see in the other pictures I posted couple pages back. I will take pictures of the pullets, and let you pick. They have ABA bands so no possible mix-up on birds. I will figure the # 2 cockerel as yours. I will get the band number to you when I post the pictures later.

Ok

Don't worry about the comb. That is normal in the first cross. As you cross, it will take on the shape you want. And with the heat we had this summer my cockerels combs are quite large, and that is normal

Chillin' With My Peeps

I had a blue ameracuana I showed it was IS very interesting the people there I saw was nice and on my first time I met a lady so kind she had silkies and I was able to feel what they were like and then the feet I never saw a chicken with 5 toes AWSOME about a year ago my Blue Ameracuana got crop bound again and I tried tom get what ever was in it through my husband was busy family matters and I couldn't operate on her she had been this once before and she had hay in it. I tried and tried but she lost so much weight and by the time we did do the operation it might of been to late, She had feathers in the crop and feed the feathers was so many I don't think they would ever of passed but we did as before but she wasn't eating much and only breed and not much so instead of her sufferring I took her life. I never thought the old rooster was showable I could of been showing him.

OH and if you have been to a chicken show it is noisy but if a chicken lays an egg you think something is really wrong the first time I thought chickens got out and was fighting with each other and it was only a egg laid. The last time I showed my Blue ameracuana she won a trophy it was by default I had a bull dog that won a blue ribbon by default but I thought since she got this one it was sure thing next time she would get one for best but it didn't happen. So I got 8 chickens and rasied them no one can show but they are nice to have.
