I dont see the white earlobes that a rosecomb would have.

they are only a few months old not matured yet

Ok, cause in that pic it looks more like an oegb earlobe.

yea i know cant wait til they mature ive never raised rosecombs before. just getting back into raising bantams got a few oegb chicks too

I, too, was disappointed when the round white earlobes didn't show up on my adolescent Black Rosecombs, then I did some more research and found that they have to grow into them. Since this is one of the disqualification areas for show quality birds, it will take longer to determine which of my young Rosecombs deserve to be in the breeding pen, and which go to freezer camp. They are so pretty, I won't mind the wait!

ETA: You can see some of the young Rosecombs in this pic:

We got a male given to us from someone in the city that cant have them. He is a very nice boy-about 5-6 months old now and we were wondering if he is show quality. I know they can't have concave combs -but his is mostly flat. we were wondering if it will plump up more the older he gets. We are considering raising them. He is still not fully whited out on his ears yet. He has a habit of making a cross between the happy chicken clucking noise and the chicken purr during the day (i usually hear purrs from chickens at night) -is this a trait of theirs?

I am new to the forum but I saw this thread and thought I would start sharing photos of my Rosecombs. I have blacks, blues, and splashes. This is my first year back in chickens since I took a break for college and I already think they are my favorites. Before I had Rosecomb Light Brown Leghorn Standards and loved them, but my Rosecombs are quickly taking there place.

This is one of my favorite breeders. Sorry about the condition of her feathers but not much you can do when theyre in the breeding pens lol. So far all her offspring are looking really nice.

I will try and get some more pictures later on this is the only one I have at the moment.

Here are a few more pictures I got of my birds today.

This is a pullet I raised this year wish I could have got her posing a little better but I believe she is going to be fairly nice.

And this is one of my older Breeders, His main sickles are shorter only because he has just molted and regrowing them.
