I wouldn't give that to my chickens and they are serving it to people? That is darn disgusting. I hope this gets to the public, that is beyond messed up.
Are they actually serving that to people? Or are these pictures of "bottom of the box" sort of things? Don't get me wrong, I really support the troops, but produce goes bad during shipment--especially if you're shipping it half way around the world. I find spots on melons and wrinkles on cucumbers that i've grown myself. I would just like more proof before I fly off the handle.
itsachicken, legitimate question. This is food that is moldy and rotten. They are told to cut away bad parts and use the "good" stuff. The melon didn't look too bad, but the pineapples and lettuce are slimy with mold. They soak the stuff to get the slime off (which then gets the slime everywhere) and then cut away the stuff that looks bad. If a health inspector saw this is a local restaurant they would be closed down.
This is not a one time incident but an ongoing issue with many reports that isn't being addressed.
Since they have now banned cameras in the dining facility, you wont see more proof. It is being covered up.
From what my son said some of the food arrives bad but some of it is fine. It is then all crammed together in walk-in coolers with bad air circulation so the bad food contaminates everything else. By the time it is used, it is mostly all bad or at least covered in mold spores.
