Rotten Food Being Served to Soldiers - 10/10 update

HOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Way to go!

Now how did that came about, did one of us complained so far and so fast or was it because he posted on FB? Then how did it go up to the ladder or chain of command????

Heh, heh, I sure hope those idiots know next time about moldy foods!

There are different coins, some Units have their own minted, some are from different era's like my Desert Shield and Desert Storm coins, or the Special Forces,, etc. They are handed out by the Commander for a job well done, over and above the call of duty, something that deserves recognition and can't be gotten just anywhere.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! I am so thrilled that your son took a stand and got changes rolling. Now Linda, I am not surprised at all that a son of yours would go in to the military and "shake things up". Not surprised at all. LOL, you should be very proud (as I'm sure you are). I know I would be. What he did and is doing takes a lot of guts and courage. I am not sure I would have had the confidence and bravery to do it.

That food is a crying shame. Whoever made the comment about feeding these men and women what could be their last meal, really touched me. That really puts things in perspective. They deserve SO MUCH BETTER! It is so sad (and frustrating). Again, my hat is off to your boy. I just don't get why, for example, the military couldn't even grow at least some of their own food there. We have certainly been there (and will continue to be there) long enough for them to set up greenhouses and produce at least some fresh food or even eggs, if not meat. I mean, hello... didn't the government create aeroponics? You can grow lettuces aeroponically in literally 2-3 weeks. Other fruits/vegetables slightly longer. Why do they create these technologies and then not use them? That is a rhetorical question, but I really don't know the answer. I know some of that was developed for the space program, but one would think it might be more cost effective in the long term (not to mention better for the people eating the food) to grow it ourselves, rather than deal with these contractors.

Again, what your son is doing is really inspiring. It is so easy to think that what you do will never make a difference. Having the character your son is showing is really something to aspire to.

Latest report from son is that the food is NO LONGER ROTTEN. Boring and industrial? Yes, but not moldy or rancid so we'll call that good!

Again, thank you for all your help and support. The attention you all brought to this really helped the situation get taken care of.

Just saw this today, but I wanted to say that food was appalling. At first, when I scrolled down and just saw the cauliflower, I thought, "Well, that's not that bad, they just need to cut off the darker spots." Then I scrolled down.

It makes me really mad that they would serve such obviously rotten food to our solders, and I'm really glad your son, even if he made a few mistakes about chain of command, did what it took to blow the whistle and ensure this got taken care of. Good for him!
