They weren't geese....I think they were pelicans??? Boy, ducks sure seem to keep an eye out on the skys!!! I'll be watching them, then they will start looking up like that and there will be the tiniest dot of a buzzard WAY up there or something like that...sometimes so high you can hardly see it, but they seem to see it like it is only 10 feet over their head.

another one of them looking at the maybe pelicans...

Oh shoot!!...don't feel horrible!!!...think nothing of it!!!  I shouldn't of mentioned anything!  Sorry for the bad luck on hatching eggs.  I hope you get a good hatch next time!  I just threw an incubator together using a mini fridge.  I'm on day 7 on my first ever chicken eggs in it.  I can't wait to hatch ducks eggs if I get it all ironed out and I can hatch eggs with it!

Well I've got 6 eggs in there now. Started with 8 and 2 were clear so I chucked them and its day 16 and I only have 2 moving but I'm not keeping my hopes up as I was almost to lockdown last time and then my cat unplugged my incubator and I ended up losing them all. Good luck to you hope you figure everything out and start hatching eggs!

at about 2 weeks old... working on taming them down.... dirty water change....
Aww so cute I used to rub their chests too and their bills they loved it. Oh yes the water change. I would do that with mine and they would cry like crazy until I started to fill it up again then they would stand under the running water lol
I had them in a big kiddie pool until they started jumping out.. then I built this for them....
I had them in a kiddie pool too but once they started jumping out I had to put a puppy playpen around it so they could get out. I love that brooder very nicely done!

. I bet these hatch for you! Thanks for the Good Luck!!! I need it!!! The moon and stars will have to perfectly align for me to ever have anything alive come out mine....lol. Oddly, I do have veins in some of them right now. I can't imagine the thrill it will be to hatch out little ducklings!

Me neither I'm anxiously waiting but trying not to be too anxious. I hand turn mine as I only have 2 hens that lay right now (Pekin) and this morning while turning the eggs I noticed all but the 2 that are moving were getting dark spots on them and I had to chuck them too. I'm hoping these 2 eggs make it. If not I'm not sure what to do lol

I said this a few days ago but I finally took the pics to share of my male Rouen and his almost complete transformation.

. Yes, the water change...lol...mine too would act like I was the biggest meany for taking their fun away from them until it started to fill back up. I have a few pics of one of them somewhere....a Rouen...he/she would breakdance infront of the rest (the crowd) as it filled...everytime! He/she was always the first to go crazy, as the others waited a bit longer. That Rouen still acts funny out there in the open...it's funny...lol.

That's a good idea to put a puppy playpen around it! I went to feed mine one morning a one met me at the basement stairs...lol...then later a couple met me....

. Thanks! I'll keep all the new babies in this one now. I put a plastic tray from a large indoor dog kennel thing in there under where I watered them. I'm going to stain it a dark walnut stain and do something to water proof the whole bottom and part of the sides. It'll just be a duck/gosling brooder. I built 4 more for turkeys and chicks...lol.

I feel it gave them plenty of room for awhile anyway. They were just short of 3 weeks old here....

That must of been something to see did you get it on video? Id love to see the ducky breakdancing lol. One of my Ancona's named Han solo would take the wash cloth and shove it back in the hole lol. No one takes baths really except the animals so I don't have a plug and just shove a wash cloth in the drain lol. She used to watch me take it out and set it on the side of the tub and one day the phone rang and I went to answer it and came back in and she had took the wash cloth and put it over top of the drain lol. It was too funny. I think a dark walnut stain would look beautiful. Maybe a waterproofer for decks? I know my mom did a water proof stain thing to our deck. It was water proof but a stain also. It worked really good.

Lol no I probably buy another incubator. I'm only incubating the Pekins eggs because they are free and I don't do anything with them so I figured they would be perfect trail and error eggs. I want to get good at hatching before next spring as I plan on hatching eggs from all my breeds and selling them as most of my breeds are not even heard of where I live. It seems all they have are Muscovy or Pekin or calls. I already have Pekin and aren't interested in the other two. Thanks he sure is getting handsome.
