Sounds like they're working on it. :) Is this your first hatch?

Some of the ducklings are standing up and touching the heating element in the incubator. I am so scared that they’re going to burn themselves. Should I remove them and put them in the brooder already? I was planning on leaving them in until more hatch, but after seeing them touch the heating element in the incubator, I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. I just don’t want to compromise the other eggs either by opening up the incubator. Should I open up the incubator and mist the other eggs right away while I move the other ones to the brooder?

That first hatch is so exciting! Heck, I'm still thrilled when I see them swimming around in the egg and then popping and hatching. So much fun!

I personally remove them as soon as they are fluffed out. If they're standing, I'd go ahead and get them out. Opening the lid just a bit and briefly has never caused me any issues. I run my incubators in a bathroom so I can run the shower a bit to get the humidity in the room up, but I open them without doing that if it's just to remove a bird or a few. Maybe remove whta you can in a few seconds, close the lid and see what the humidity does.

Right now, only one is super fluffy and dry. The other two are still pretty moist looking. They are all walking around and standing. I have the incubator in a bedroom so sadly I can’t do the shower trick. I’ll fill the water wells with warm water as soon as I open the lid and take them out. They’re chilling right now and occasionally napping so I may wait a little bit until I open the lid up.

Sounds good. :)
