Could be that he is least dominate of yhe three.

While they sorted out pecking order at some point if he gobbled or strutted he could have gotten a beat down.

I have a tom that lost his place at top of pecking order.

When the tom at the top now comes by if the old tom is strutting he will drop his strut. Lower his head and walk away.

When these 2 toms settled who was gonna be top dog the fight lasted all day. So could br respect or afraid of beatdown.
