I posted this in my introduction thread but I guess it is supposed to go here.

We are in the process of building a coop for some future chickens.
My issue right now is deciding what to do about the floor of the coop. We are using an old garage that was a shelter for our highland cows several years ago. There was no floor. My husband has built a raised plywood floor, about 1ft off the ground. I see that many here have used Blackjack rubber coating and I would have gone that way but am not able to get it here in rural Ontario, Canada (especially during the pandemic lockdown). The similar choices that I can get are this one https://daichcoatings.com/shop/elastolock/ or this one https://www.homehardware.ca/en/16oz-black-liquid-rubber-coating/p/2035753. I have no idea if they are safe for chickens. Or should I just go with floor/porch paint? However, the porch paint won't really fill in the seams or cracks in the plywood.

I'll vote again for the porch and floor paint. You can caulk the seams with a siliconized paintable caulk.
I've got 2 coats on my coop floor and it's holding up great.

If you can find data sheets for those products you can compare them to the Black Jack for similarities/difference. I gotta say after looking around, I still went with BJ57 instead of similar products just because people had verified the BJ57 works.

Paint is always an option as well.

I wanted to spray the entire inside of mine with an undercoat spray gun and bed liner. Talk about forever solution. Did my Jeep tub a while back and after a couple days it's done off gassing and completely inert.
Coop wound up with bj57
