Hey does anyone know what this might be? Found it in the nesting box this arvo, feels rubbery but looks kind of meaty.

5 hens from 2yrs old to 8ish, no rooster. Had 3 eggs today.

Let me know if there is any more info I could provide that can help someone figure it out.

I have absolutely no idea but I hope you can find out. Weird! Was there any blood or weird mucus on or around it? I would almost think it was a growth of some kind, but idk how it would become unattached from the animal if so.

To verify it as lash material from a reproductive infection called salpingitis, cut into it and examine the texture. If it's firm like cheese, it's chicken pus, a sign of bacterial infection. As @Aunt Angus said, it may be too late to treat, but you may give it a go if you choose.

If you aren't in a western state or a country that prohibits purchasing antibiotics, you can buy 250mg amoxicillin here https://www.kvsupply.com/item/aqua-mox-250mg-capsules-100-count/P06184/ and treat the hen that produced that glob and it may help if the infection is very early. Pop one pill into her beak each day for ten days.
