Yup I'm in England. There are a few rescue groups here and I got mine through these guys:

I was surprised at how good the condition of the ones I saw when I collected mine was though one has a bald back and another a bald neck which isn't obvious in the photos. The rescue guys try to take the ones in better condition as they have the best chance of surviving but a few did have to be put down and I saw some in quite poor condition that had been put into a pen to hopefully recover before going to new homes.
I was a bit unsure how strong they would be and if the ex-batts I've had since April would dominate them so I'm keeping them apart at the moment however I let them meet for a while last night and mine older ones were a bit taken aback to find that one of the new ones is rather larger then them and chased them off!
