This handsome fella is Rufus, the worlds best and most handsome rooster. He is 2 years old.

He has been under the weather for the past couple of weeks. Here's what's happening. Maybe someone can suggest a way to help him feel better?

1. Lethargic
2. Not crowing
3. Not mating
4. Not watching over the flock
5. Pale comb
6. Crop feels empty
7. He is eating and drinking
-Seems like he is constantly at the feeder
-Seems like his chin and chest are wet after he drinks, like the water is dribbling out
-I have added Rooster Booster and electrolytes to the water
8. Tail down, doesn't seem to be taking pride in his appearance
9. No one else is sick

Did you check the coop and him carefully for poultry mites and lice?

When did you last deworm him and what did you use?

ETA: Inspect the inside of his mouth and throat for any lesions or signs of canker.
No lice, no mites.

Has not been dewormed ever.

Nothing in the mouth. I will say, the other day when I checked his mouth his tongue was yellow today it's gray, don't know what that's about or what his tongue color was when he wasn't sick.

No mites or lice is good, but try deworming in case internal parasites are depriving him of nutrients are the cause. There is no harm in deworming, but it can save his life.

Maybe check and compare his tongue to those of some of your other Silkies.

Can you get a picture of his face and eyes? All I can see is his beak and feathers. A clear picture of his face and his open beak would be helpful. Does he have any eye drainage, crust or gunk around the eyes? Could he have been beaten up by another rooster? Is he drinking water or eating? SafeGuard liquid goat wormer or the horse paste are very good. Dosage is 1/4 ml per pound for 5 days to treat most all chicken worms. Valbazen is one found more often online, but in some farm stores. It only requires 1/2 ml given orally and given again after 10 days.

No discharge or crustys around his face or eys. No other rooster here or anyone who fights with him. We are a very zen flock.

These pictures are not great. First, he is a fuzzy little monster, and I'm having to do this with him in one hand and the camera in the other. He is wet from drinking water, like I said it's dribbling out I think. That's food on his face.
