Plant City Newb
In the Brooder
When we fenced the run we didn't have quite enough of the small hole wire to complete the job. We had to do a small section in some field fence we had. We put the small side down figuring it was small enough to keep the little dears inside. I kept finding girls on the outside of the fence this week and figured they flew over the top. Then I saw my second in command (Missy) on the outside of the fence and when I went to pick her up, she went 'boop' through the field fence. Aw...mystery solved. I put some chicken wire over that section and the little dears have been contained all day now.
Animals will definitely let you know when your construction needs some work!
We have been taking them out on supervised free foraging. They've do enjoy that. We have a lot of 'extra' stuff on the side of the barn and they do like scratching there. My big girl, Brunhilde, found the handle of an old wheelbarrow to jump up on.
