Run help! Can't bury

I put HC down all over the bottom of the run then covered with dirt. Lots of dirt. I’ve seen mouse tunnels underneath briefly but the chickens cover them pretty quickly. The rodents can’t get through 1/2 inch HC.

We did same but built a frame, put HC on the bottom as well as extended 2' around the entire frame. Then flipped it over and then we filled the entire frame with dirt, sand and other organics (leaves and such) and also put dirt and sand around the perimeter. Will add more dirt and such as gets compacted. The coop and run sit on top of the frame. With this all said, my chickies aren't out in their new "crib" yet but as far as I can tell, it should be pretty secure.
