*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

@unlucky picker, I hope you find what u r looking for at the swap. If you want to wait for a few months, when my ducks ae old enough to breed i would be glad to give you some runner eggs to hatch. I have fawn & white, blue & chocolate runners. Just pay for the shipping, thats all i ask for in return. Just a thought?
Good luck at the swap.

CyndiD l see there is gonna be a swap met the 16th at Noah's Pet Shop on 460 in Prospect, Va. Saw on Craig's list. Not to far for me to go. Near Farmville. Maybe I'll find something there. Hope some of the Richmond people may come. Wish me luck lol

Good luck! I saw a post about that swap shared on one of the Virginia facebook groups I'm in; they may have runners there, but if not, maybe consider ordering ducklings or eggs. Sometimes, if you want a specific breed, you gotta do what you gotta do. LOL

CyndiD been awful weekend. My duck sitting on the mixed eggs only hatched three. She has already let two die. I have the third in house now and her back with drake because she decided to start laying eggs two days after the hatching. Seems she was carring for the eggs and not the ducklings. Had a little girl that had lost her duck over the winter that wanted two. Was gonna give them two her. Never had ducklings inside before. But if it makes it it's hers. She was a good mom last year but had eleven ducklings.

Awh, sad about the 2 little ducklings, it's so sad, but nature. I think because we domesticate our ducks, they dont take good care of their babies, maybe? It is sad to see the helpless babies get sick or just not make it. Sorry for your loss.

CyndiD thanks. It would be bad loosening them but with a little 8 year old girl that hurts the most. Sat some rubber ducks beside the aquarium she investigated them and has got a little less vocal. Laying next to them.

@unlucky last week when i had to seperate my sick little chocolate runner, i put her in a seperate tote & put another little buff w/her for company, tbey were both crying for t/rest of t/flock. So, Amiga suggested putting an unbreakable mirror in w/them. I do not have an unbreakable one, its a big hand mirror w/a plastic frame & handle. Anyway, it was wonderful & cute to see them snuggled up to t/mirror. It makes them content & they think there r/more ducks w/them. I have it w/my 2 smallest/youngest ducklings (1 wk old) now. Maybe try this?
I put my 2 youngest w/t 2 & 3 wk olds for supervised 20 to 30 mins twice a day now until they get bigger & can hang w/t biger ones. They're growing fast, all of them. Im putting t/2 & 3 wk olds outside in there perminant coop for a few hrs while its warm today, w/a heat lamp. I will bring them in later when it gets too cold.
Im excited for u, about t/swapmeet, hope u find what ur looking for. Dont forget, my offer. I am a believer in God & I believe in sharing & giving. I know u dont know me, but I am blessed to be able to share, just as u do. Take care

Here's a pic of my 3 runners there is a male and female chocolate and a female blue and they are almost 2 months I think they are 7 weeks

CyndiD forgot where you are from but here it's in the upper 80's suppose to be low 90's tomorrow. Only 3:30 could get hotter. Gonna take a while to cool off today lol if I had more than one I could have them outside today. Night gets to cool. Think that's what happened to the other two. Mom not getting them together at night.

You can actually buy fewer ducks from them, but there is a minimum price you have to pay. I bought 4 and paid $70 total, but that was for four ducklings, sexing, the "minimum price" fee, and shipping and a heat pack and gro-gel. Only a few dollars per duck to sex them, and they have GREAT ducks. Mine are beautiful.

@Kaessa, oh yes, i forgot, ur right, you can buy fewer. They have a $40.00 min or $45.00, im old i forget easily. I bought ten because it was more ducks for my money. I paid $87.00 for 10 ducks, sexed, etc. Metzer Farms is Great, they treated me very well. They helped me in so many way, Q's, tracking my shipment of my ducks, replacing the sick duck.....etc, etc.
Thanks
