*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Bad news has been heading my way. My town has decided that ducks are illegal and my heart is breaking! I have no friends or family that can/will take them for me and I don't want to get rid my babies! I hate this.
I would find out what you need to do to get them to change the regs. Take it to the town board and find out what kind of paperwork needs to be done to see about changing the rules. Tell them how the ducks are bettering your life by providing eggs, meat and compost. Maybe you can get something worked out to them agreeing to a certain number of ducks.

I can't get anything changed, the city has made up their minds. They deem ducks a nuisance as well as roosters. They are on a witch hunt to find any violators and hit them with as many fines as possible. They won't listen to we the people, and how these animals aren't just animals.

Hi Smurfbrew, when they molt is it dramatic? What i mean is, do they lose a lot of feathers, will it be noticeable? I am waiting for mine to molt, i was hoping they would get new fawn feathers back in. My runners are broody nowo i dont think they will be molting anytime soon. Later gater!

Sorry, I've been away for a while. I'm still waiting for that molt! Last time they molted it looked like somebody had a big pillow fight in their pen, so yeah, kind of dramatic. They never looked naked or anything though, their new feathers just sort of subtly changed markings day to day. For a while there it was hard to tell who was who because they looked different every day. It was subtle though, since I've got two welshies and the ways to tell them apart are things like, Delilah has a darker neck, Daphne has more white on her back, etc. I'm sure they will look like all new ducks after the next molt!

@smurfbrew Funny i should get your reply today because today it looks like there was a pillow fight outside where all the Ducks hang out. these were bigger than others then the norm of just pruning themselves. thanks for the info. Hope you had fun while you were away. Later Gator
