*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Pics
Our runners love the water as much as any of our other ducks (Pekin and WH). I think the fact that runners don't REQUIRE a lot of water for swimming gives the false impression that they don't like it. Why would they not like swimming? After all, they are ducks.

2 Runners , their Pekin/Runner mix sibling and their "Mama" enjoying some water together this morning. Lots more pics of them at my link below.

Hehe, it's funny you had to retrieve them! Considering runners aren't meant to be so much the lovers of water like some are mine can't stay out if it! Anyone else found this?
We have had Runners for 3 years now and every one of them has always loved their pond......I find my Aylesbury's just get in for a quick wash then get out but the Runners are in and out all day long :)

My runners love water, and TOES!! I can not wear flip flops outside around them.
No! My ducks think my toes are just big juicy worms, I learnt the hard way

Good point! Seems a bit mean that they would say that in the first place. Doesn't allow them to be at their happiest, but yeah I get the point.

I think my Aylesbury and Cayugas would be in it all day if it wasn't for the runners bullying them out if it! Even when they are eating at the other end if the garden they will charge at them if the venture near 'their' pond!

Hehe that's funny. My ducks have pecked at mine randomly but haven't got a foot fetish yet!

That's a lovely pic. Do the chickens ever try and go for a swim out of interest? I'm guessing no but wondered if a chick thought a duck was its mum would it try!?
