Hi all I have a question please my male Indian runner duck whom is around 3 - 5 months old is starting to molten but so far has never had a curly tail he is definitely Male no question there just wondered if he will get one his almost looks a bit stumpy compared to the girls what u think ?

Well 3-5 months is a big age guess if he is 3 months, you will probably see the curl in a month or two. If he is 5 months, you should see it soon. My Runner drake doesn't have a big curly tail like my Khaki Campbell, but it just lifts a bit on the end in a swoop.

Ah ha his is stumpy like that to I'm gonna pick him up and give him a inspection tomorrow I'll do it in the house as he will sit still and be nosey then

I'm feeding my 3 month olds the Purina Flock Raiser with brewers yeast since they were wee baby peepers, but will they always need the niacin supplement? I don't mind getting it for them, but I don't want to... over-niacin them either. They're also foraging outside now, and are absolutely spoiled rotten with koi pellets.

Good morning.... We had a male runner along with our Swedish-x. Molting is what our ducks did & that's when our runners curl came out. Or Swedish never did get a curl, but he's all boy.
We now have 2 gurlz for him. He's happy & that's our goal, to make & keep our pets happy.

Azula: Black drake
Zuko: Fatter black drake (maybe part-time Cayuga?)
Gwaine: Dark chocolate hen with a white hat
Mirage: Light brown hen
Banshee: Medium brown hen with one tiny white eyebrow
Wednesday: Blue hen
Weyoun: Blue hen with white chest

My boys, and their new little butt horns! Hahaha! I wasn't expecting drake feathers so soon, to be honest...

Their house, which I'm HOPING they'll use when it gets cold. They only go into the doghouse to eat (their food dispenser hangs in there so no one steps in it) but it's another layer of protection if they decide to use it. Even with the door open, it's actually noticeably warmer in there.

Here's their baby brooding bucket turned into a little pond. Soon as I can get some fill dirt, we'llbe able to set up the big pond in the back,since they only fit 3 or maaaybe 4 at a time in this one.

The most important part: the unplanned mud puddle! The ducks engineered it themselves, and of course, it's the best water in the pen.

This is their favorite hidey-space under the smoke bush. I added some blocks along the wall today to block wind.

I have a female white indian runner duck. she is called Daisy because she is just like the flower. yellow for the centre (beak and legs) and white petals (body). unfortunately my 2 rouhens are picking on her and she might have to go back i hope not though. i love her so much. any ideas on what i should do to stop the bullying?

Poor sweet Daisy. Did you introduce them slowly when you first got her? Usually folks will keep them in separate pens where they can see each other and interact through a fence for a while before they really start living together. Then they move on to supervised time together, usually involving snacks, so that they associate each other with good times. It just might take a while for your others girls to get used to the newbie if they've been they only ducks for a long time. Just make sure they aren't blocking her access to the food and water and that she gets her fair share.
