Just ordered 10 runner ducklings from metzer farms. Im so excited to get them! They are planned to ship march 6th
4- fawn and white
2-black
2-blue
2- chocolate
All sexed females.
Does anyone else have any from metzer farms?

I bought mine from Metzer. they are wonderful people to work w/also. if you have any that dont make it through the shipping they will replace them.
mine are not SQ but they are pretty. mine also hatched eggs last Jan, so cute. I actually want more pekin ducks, so if you want any older runners you are welcome to mine. i really want to rehome some.

may i ask what it is you prefer about pekins over runners?
I love pekins too. Just curiosity
I chose to order all runners because we have no chickens anymore, and we want them for the eggs. And i like their small size.
I tried ducks last year and the pekins harassed my chickens so bad i had to keep them seperated . So we ended up giving them to a friend. I loved them tho!
We had some unfortunate chicken events this year already. So im starting fresh with ducks only and really looking forward to it.

I want more pekin ducks cuz mine are not hatching well. i let my ducks hatch eggs last Jan and Feb and they hatched a bunch of buff o's and runner's. i sold about 10 ducks last spring but need to thin my flock again, i just have too many to take care of. i love them and i just cant put them in the freezer. i like the pekin ducks cuz they are not as flighty and afraid of me like the runners are.

How do runner ducks do with larger breed ducks? Im thinkng of adding two more ducks to the order. A silver appleyard and a saxony. But looks like they are almost double the weight of runners.
Do you all recommend against this?

I have Runner&Buffs in with my Muscovy's and all do fine together. My Muscovy drake pays no attention to the other 2 breeds. Are you planning on just females? Then def a go.
