If you turn of the heat lamp for 2 minutes to take pictures no 'lings will freeze

That is why I have much better pictures of my second and third broods then my first.

But the plug ins are all outside the coop/ brooder area. And i always get the pics when im hanging out inside with them in the evening!

My runnner duck is a very pampered inside duck lol

These girls decided last night they dont need a heat lamp anymore. They wanted to hang out in the run . I put them back inside and locked them up for the night and left only one heatlamp on . They slept close to it but not too close.
This morning the came out as soon as i opened up the door.it was 37 degrees

They do have a good thick down and are starting to get big feathers . Cant beleive how fast they are growing. I say that everytime haha. 3 1/2 weeks today. The khakis are 4 1/2 weeks.
