Def with 12 girls he can't be too bad. But he may be worn out by the end of the day. lol
My Runner has 7 and my Muscovy drake has 4 my Muscovy never even looks at the Runners and Buff but boy does my Runner drake like those Muscovy girls..

None of my girls are showing any wear and tear and a few of my scovy girls are starting to stand up to Snoop. Putting him in his place.

He really is a good boy and talks every breathe it's a good thing they aren't as loud as the females. He even talks when he is eating under water.

Lol , one of our khakis is a boy. We are thinking of keeping him because we love him so much. But i cant handle the non stop chasing of girls. So once that age / behavior starts, if he is too bad i prob will find him a home . But he is the only boy- so 1 boy to 12 girls. So we will give it a shot at least.

With just one, I would guess the girls will court him as much as he will chase them. I have 2 and 13, and one drake is super mellow and the other one is super.... drake. But he still is courted as much as he chases, so I think overall the flock likes him. If he would lay off the other drake and one of the girls (who I think causes her own problems), he wouldn't ever be in jail. So far this year he has managed to stay free.

Wow he is beautiful!!! And he should stay that way too. Black / Chocolate / Blue Drakes shouldn't get snow feathers.... Only the girls so he can be a rainbow drake into his older years.

So you could use the snow feathers for sexing.... if you happend to miss the couple hundred eggs that were either laid or not by the time the first snow feather comes

first time duck owner here (or going to be first time duck owner here)

i plan on getting 3 ducks this fall and getting one runner duck (blue color which is a hen) and to be honest this is my favorite duck, i just really enjoy the way they look.

Holderead had recommended 1 boy for 5 girls or more for Runners, that's the ratio I'm shooting for.
Not quite sure what I'll do with the progeny that are going to be roughly 50/50 boys/girls.
