Running out of ideas on crop problem

Thank you for the article...I am going to try one more thing until I move to something else. I am going to make her a "crop bra" today and see if that speeds up crop emptying. She seems a little better after she vomited this AM. I think she feels better when she gets that nasty stuff out.
yes, i have puked a girl that was hardly moving and after the puke, she looks almost normal. until the crop refills. i wish i knew how to make a crop bra or know how to sew.

You can use brandy to treat sour crop. First empty the crop the give 3ml neat brandy. You will have to syringe it down. Isolate her with out food or water for 24 hrs. Then allow her to drink some luke warm water. Another 24 hrs introduce small amounts of feed and she should start making a turnaround. You can also give daktarin oral. This should be given before whilst with holding feed. Three times a day for a couple of days. You can still feed them but let the daktarin spread into the crop first.

Check the article that I sent you yesterday because I actually just made one and it was super easy using a piece of fabric, vet wrap and a hot glue gun. The directions are in the article. Here are a few pictures of my girl modeling her new outfit.

ty - that IS easy to make. does that stay on for the rest of her life ?
or do you remove it at certain times ?
That may be the issue I'm having with the speckled sussex

I was told to do it at night for about four days and then try to go without it and see what happens. Luckily, my girl, doesn’t seem to mind it and hasn’t been picking at it. I’m gonna let her wear it for a little while just so she can get used to it.

well that didn't work out well.
i made one and put it on her and sat her down in the hen house.
it took the other girls less than 15 seconds to have it undone from the top
and they were pulling at the bottom straps. so off it came.
on the upside, the vage cream has reduced her crop about 1/2. i will keep dosing her with the 2% stuff and see what happens. i can try and do it at night with the bra if needed. during the day when the other girls can see it, no way..

my sussex was almost empty this morning. so I'm going to keep up dosing her 3 times a day with the 2% vage cream and see if she recovers. I'm hopeful.

Took my girl to the vet and she has some fluid in her abdomen. He’s doing an X-ray but we are probably gonna put her down and vet offered to do a necropsy for free.

i really hope you don't have to do that.

Unfortunately, I did let him euthanize. Her X-ray showed fluid in her abdomen and he felt like there was a reproductive issue. She was skin and bones. He was doing a necropsy this afternoon and is supposed to call with results. He raises chickens as well and I trusted his judgement. Good luck with your girl and keep us posted.
