Running out of ideas on crop problem

she's fine and dandy. still broody and healthy. i have had another issue with another 4 1/2 year old speckled sussex that had a stroke and then got a dough ball crop. i isolated her about a week ago and started treating her with the vage cream for the dough ball. this morning she is in with the flock and the dough ball is almost gone completely and she has regained her ability to walk. i will continue to medicate her 3 times a day with 1ml of vage cream for a couple more days

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear she is doing well and I hope your other hen makes a full recovery as well. My girls are doing great and seem to be adjusting to just being the four of them. I have decided that I will get more when I get down to 2. I'm still getting one egg every other day so its a good thing we don't like eggs that much.

well, she had another stroke yesterday late. I found her sitting in the run by herself when I went out to put the girls away for the night :he.. She's back in the baby run again and I will see what happens. its effecting her left side like the last time. time will tell...

next to no improvement so far this time :(
she's still eating and drinking but not able to ambulate using the left side.
I will keep toting her back and forth from the baby run during the day
and to the house at night so she can sleep with the other girls.
she sleeps on the PDZ on the poop board under the roost boards.

Well here we are 9-8 and she still has not regained the use of her left leg. She's healthy as a horse but she's now refusing to eat. I know where this ends up and its not good. I have been using syringes to get water, spice mix and monostat in her because of a sour crop but I can't get it to go away completely. She has been staying in the baby run since Aug 13th and sleeping on the poop board at night in the main house. I don't know what else I can do. There is no medicine for a stroke. I will keep carrying her back and forth and force feeding her liquids but her long term outlook is not good as she just won't eat anything I offer her. I don't have what it takes to put her down. I will just keep her as comfortable as I can while she's still with us.
