*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

Dustfur watched Moosepelt and Flykit play moss ball. Her neck still ached, but it was getting better. She sat up and groomed herself somberly, but inwardly she was buzzing with excitement. Will Bramblestar choose me to be a mentor? Then she remembered the dawn hunting patrol. I must do my very best on the patrol. She resolved. Then he'll give me one.

Moosepelt caught it in his jaws and sent it flying back with a blow from his paw.
She giggled and chased after it, catching it in her forepaws. She sent it sprawling across the leaf-mold and sent it back to Moosepelt

Owlherb approached her. "Hey, Dustpelt. How are you feeling? I noticed you're moving a bit stiffly."

"Oh... I, uh... I spent a good amount of time bothering the medicine cats when I was kit." She laughed, telling a half truth. "Anyway, this seems like a good spot to hunt."
Nightbird nodded to her explanation, already pricking her ears and scenting the air for prey. She caught a scent and dashed into the undergrowth. “First one to catch something wins!” Came her muffled reply from the bushes as she streaked away.

"aren't I always?" Dustfur grunted sarcastically.

"Oh, you're on!" She laughed, streaking away in the other direction. She soon spotted a water vole foraging around a small stream. She quickly went downwind from it and began creeping carefully toward it. When she was a rabbit-length away, she snapped a twig with a satisfying crack, causing the vole to panic and freeze. She bunched her muscles and sprang, killing it quickly
