*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

"I don't want to, but all cats, no matter how great, have to go to StarClan one day." He meowed, licking his ear. Lionpaw pressed into his fur, Skypaw climbed onto his back, careful to stay away from his broken ribs. The older cats stayed back to let their younger siblings have their turn first
Brackenpaw whimpered. “But I don’t want you to go to StarClan. I want you to stay here!” He knew he sounded like a kit, but he didn’t care.

"Oh, my sweet kits. You don't know how much it pains me to say goodbye for the last time." He swayed a little on his paws, the edge of his vision turning to black. He shook his head viciously, clearing his vision and regaining is balance. Not. Yet. He thought fiercely. "And I will always be here. I'll be right in the crowd, calling your warrior names during the ceremony, giving you strength and courage in the middle of a battle. I will never truly leave you."

SageHeart stood and made his way over to the other cats, towering above most of them. He knew something was happening and he could feel the sorrow, like a heavy blanket over the cats. He saw a cat in the center, he knew he was sick and suddenly, he knew that cat was going to die. That was why they were here.

Owlherb noticed Sageheart among them. "Hey, Sageheart. I'm guessing you've figured out what's going on. Don't tell the others yet. It will only cause panic. Bramblestar wants to say goodbye to each cat individually and tell them himself."

"Alright," SageHeart said. He was hesitant to get closer, unsure if he was welcome for he did not know the dying cat, nor his kits or siblings. He did feel sorry though, he hated when other cats died. He couldn't bear the site of the kits crying though, it tugged at him, ate at him until he was on the verge of tears with them.

(Bramblestar is the Clan leader. Every cat knows him. :) )

(Sorry)
(So he knew him but not very well and was not sure if he was welcome for this was a family gathering of death)
He inched closer, eager to try and comfort his leaders kits. He felt a need to protect them over all the clan and couldn't bear to see their tears.

(It's fine, don't worry about it. Have you ever read any of the warrior books?)
Lionpaw unburied his face from his father's pelt, looking up at Sageheart with uncertainty. His eyes were filled with grief until he buried his face again, drinking in Bramblestars scent for maybe the last time

(I read the comics, never go around to the books and i can't find them)
He saw the way the young kit, Lionpaw, looked at him and wasn't sure how to react. The kits grief caused him pain but the kit did not know him and Sage wasn't sure how the kits would take to him lurking around them, constantly on guard, ready to give his life for them. He layed near enough to ease his fear of something suddenly coming at them, but far enough away that the kits would feel comfortable with their dying father.

(Ok, so there are a few things you should know. The Clan leaders last part of their name is always star. An apprentices last part of their name is always paw, and a kits last part of their name is always kit. After a leader dies, their deputy must travel to Mouthermouth to see StarClan and get their nine lives as well as the 'star' in their name. Then they must appoint a new deputy by midnight of that night. The deputy arranges all of the patrols and is the leaders most trusted cat.)
