Runny yellow clear discharge from cloaca

Looking at that last photo where she is wet from her bath her abdomen below her vent looks rounded and swollen to me and you seem to be saying that it feels bloated.... Does it feel like a water balloon? I'm wondering if she has the start of ascites.
What does her comb look like? Is it reddened up or is it still quite pale and dry from moult?

It doesn't feel like ascites. Mind you as a vet tech I usually deal with dogs and cats. So who knows? Her comb is bright red, and appears normal.

She is certainly no worse, I did a second Epsom soak and there was far less mess on her. We added oyster to he feed and vitamins to her water. I also grabbed puppy training pass to keep her kennel nice and clean. She was pecking at her feed as soon as her soak / monistat application.

Glad she is still going.
You may want to put the oyster shell in a little cup for her, not mix it with the feed.

Hopefully the discharge and whatever else is in there will clear out. I think she may have had a soft shell egg burst in there.

I really hope so. I not a fan of not trying everything. We started oral antifungal meds as well, just incase. I'll put some oyster shells in right now before bed.

If the discharge continues, do you think the vet you work with could take a look (at least at your photos) or even ask an avian vet colleague to see if they have any ideas?

I looked back at the photos, the clear/yellowish to me is egg matter, but green is concerning. See how she does, but a round of antibiotics may be needed to help fight infection - the worry would be if any of "yuck" is moving up the oviduct and dropping into the abdominal cavity where it will fester. Unfortunately, with chickens a lot is guesswork it can be so frustrating.

Today she is much cleaner! No more runny yellow mucoid discharge. Now it's just messy poops. I'm running a sample into the clinic I locum for and checking it for parasites. It's green/white and gritty looking.

Otherwise she seems much better. Less redness around her vent and I'd go as far as to say her belly even seems a bit softer. Shes definitely getting her feisty back on!

What a lovely girl!!!:) LOL I can't help but give a giggle over her expression - the muff (beard) makes it even better:lol:

I'm glad she is doing a bit better. Has she been eating a lot of greens?
Great idea to have a fecal done.

Yed her muff gets me too. Working out doses for droncit praziquantel and fenbendazol right now. Treating all 4 today and in 10 days.

Glad you were able to get a fecal float!

Does the vet you work for have a Vet Drug Manual - you may want to look up the praziquantel dosage.

Fenbendazole dosage is 1/4 ml per pound for 5 days in a row.

Are you planning on giving both de-wormers at the same time?
