So we hatched out 10 ducklings on Tuesday. The last one was out about 12 hours after the second to last one (which also happened last time I hatched and the runt turned out fine although he was smaller than the others). I noticed this duckling was smaller than the rest of them and always sitting. I have been putting them outside when it is warm out. After noticing the baby was sitting a lot I made some electrolyte water and gave it to him. Went to check on them, they were sitting together, but he was trying to get up but unable. Picked him up and set him down and it looks like he is unable to use his right leg

They are being fed game bird grower by Tucker Milling feed (20% protein). I have been adding some Brewer's Yeast to their water and food since yesterday.

Could it be that the others possibly injured him? Right now he is sleeping in the crook of my arm. Also still peeps very loudly, haven't observed him eat, poop, or drink other than the electrolyte water I gave him - he's been pretty lethargic the whole day.

Also maybe of interest, yesterday they were chasing honeybees for fun and my mom said she saw one get stung - she said it wasn't this one but could it be a possibility?

Please help - I don't want to lose this little one.

Sound like you are doing every thing right. How old are they now? Maybe if you could get him some vitamin B-complex to knock it out. What breed? I used brewers yeast too but I might have just gotten lucky. There is not that much niacin in brewers yeast so to really deal with big problems like this B-complex is the best thing to use. @Miss Lydia is great with how much to give your little guy and can help you tons! Don't think this has to do with a bee sting unless he got stung in his leg and it just hurts.

Some ducklings need an extra dose of Vitamins. I would give him some extra Vitamin B complex or at least some Niacin, solved in warm water. Also some sugar water for extra energy and vitamin C to increase the appetite. Good Luck! :fl

Sugar water is ok for some times but not really in this case. One she gives him some vitamins then he should be doing better. Maybe if it gets real bad then this would be a good option.
OP is he eating and drinking?

Brewers yeast isn’T as good when one already has a problem go to TSC and get liquid b complex and give your little one 1ml daily but best way is over something yummy like smashed peas or mealworms just enough that he gets the whole dose. It’s good for them all but this little one really needs it.

Our little duck had the same problem but I see that our solution didn’t work it was water therapy. There is also another solution that is famous. Over night put him into a sock and he might have better balance as he is learning to balance himself when he is already balanced. Repeat every day until significant improvement.
