Did I read somewhere on this thread that the lighter colored ones usually end up with more spangling?It would be interesting to see how the ones with the darker dorsal stripes feather in comparison to the ones with the lighter ones.
This is just what I am hoping more folks will watch and track. Get leg bands a pencil and pad, a camera is better. Blue legbands looked like this. Ideal vent sexes. We can sex way way way before 18 months, where'd you get that idea? By 4-5 months they're crowing or laying eggs, that's a pretty good indicator of gender![]()
MFB made a good point about vent sexing and pullets in a previous post and I have to think she meant 18 weeks. I believe you may have cockerels that crow 4-5 months, but I have yet to have a pullet lay that early. Mine have been more like 6-7 months to lay.
