Russian Orloffs

bustedchicks it's not a problem. If you're interested in getting into Russian Orloff there are various members on here who can probably sell you chciks or hatching eggs. There are also various members on the group page that may do so.

If buying eggs from ebay, be extremely cautious. There are a lot of good folks who sell on there, but there are also folks who advertise eggs one way and when and if you get them, it's totally not what they described. Best is to stick to those who have the breeds best interest. They are the ones who will provide you with not only the freshest eggs but will answer any questions you have regarding that breed.

I am the proud owner of my first Orloff. Photos will of course follow, once it's in the brooder. :)

I had eggs shipped to me from Oregon 3 weeks ago. They were developing great and then 2 days ago I discovered my son accidentally turned off the power to the incubator (turned off the power strip it was plugged into). It was off for about 24 hours and the incubator was at 77 degrees when I checked on them. I went ahead and turned it back on, but I didn't really have much hope. This morning 1 had hatched and 1 had externally pipped. Unfortunately it didn't internally pip first and I think it pulled it's beak back inside the egg and drowned. But another has pipped so ... Can't wait to see how many actually hatch, still can't believe they survived.

My first ever Orloff hatch. Heres little mini O .. he is supposed to be a LF Orloff but that is him/her at two weeks old next to a couple of day old Silkies... little midget.
I had to move him in with them because the hatchmates of other breeds have gotten so big and were all trampling him.
He is tough I gotta say. Will make a nice little pet.

Just noticed it looks like its 100 in there.. its really not just maybe the way the camera hit it.

Final tally 4 of 11 hatched plus the 1 that pipped in the wrong spot. Not bad considering what happened. I can't seem to get a photo to upload from my phone so those will have to come later.
