RussianChickens the black & white one is a mottled RO I hatched from 9 eggs I bought, 7 of which where Mottled. Unfortunately it was the only one that hatched. I saw a few pics of some Pavlovskaja a few weeks ago from someone in Russia who has them, really nice looking bird.

Rare- check that roo number 2 for duck foot. Love that pullet/hen in the back of the last pic.

Eli is taking on an interesting black back, mottled front. I wonder if the mottling ss what has effected his eye color. I saw a halvsies chicken once-- cock. He was literally half one breed down one side of his face and the second breed on the other half. Genetics really are amazing.

Ash, I was told Eli is an F2 mottled, unfortunately I know nothing of genetics. Your thought might be a possibility though. By the way I'm gonna be up in your neck of the woods this weekend.

I commented very positively in between the pics. These are FINALLY some Orloffs I can really enjoy looking at. Thank you for sharing your birds. They only want for longer necks and housing at my place Please continue to breed for that type in this pic above. Thank you for the alert on pics.

FYI just found another small hatchery carrying Orloffs: A and J in NY.

I got so excited by these pics I forgot to share! I have Irish Muffs coming! One big step closer to my color project. AND I have a home with a guy totally into games so I don't have to keep them or feel guilty that they aren't appreciate. It was a jackpot day. I also managed to get in touch with someone from Russia who keeps Orloffs that I am conversing with now. I really want to pick their brain. What a big break in the RO world for me. Its been so so frustrating having to start completely over and have issues with eggs in the mail.

Thank you! Mine would probably benefit from some time wandering and less feed--BUT we just have too many predators around here for that. I do let them out when I'm home and can be outside with them...but that's far and few between these days...
