Well with their current condition(poor hatch rate), and the present foot problems I'm unsure I would want to do much other than scrap the idea. I was intending on raising them in a moderate fashion, about 40 chicks next spring. From the look of things I'd probably need to hatch near 200 to get much worth working with.
I would like to keep myself open to Orloffs. Spangled isn't a color I'm too keen on but I can see it growing on me. Orloffs are very much a breed I enjoy to watch. They remind me a great deal of my Buckeyes, however, they have beards and beards are always a plus.
