Russian Orloffs

Steven was back to jumping up for the feed bucket a couple of days afterwards. It is quite funny when a girl or two flaps up so he thinks he can get up there too! There has NEVER been any agression from any of the ROs but someone that hasn't had chickens would think I was being attacked for the feed bucket:)

Took some "progress monitoring" photos of my 4 chicks today. They are 1 day short of 3 weeks old. There is a definite size different, 1 and 2 are a fair amount larger than 3 and 4. Not much else to note yet except the differences in how dark/light they are. Sorry if the numbers are sideways, for some reason when I upload photos this forum likes to turn some of them on their sides.

Some times it is best in the evening to take photos even if it is wile they are roosting ..

Setting about 2.5 doz eggs tonight... ALL ORLOFFS.  :yiipchick
Yay!!! :)

I have 50 RO eggs in the incubator right now, to add to the 40+ I've already hatched. Yes, I should know the exact number on the ground, it's in my records, I'm just in avoidance right now. :) But in a fit of self preservation I broke down the breeding pens yesterday.

I know. This is the last set of eggs going in. I only have the Saxony eggs in the incubator for ducks this year and I am really hoping for a few more pure Seb geese but I am otherwise giving all the eggs back to my other goose and calling it quits for the year. Now to worry about gardening and summer classes.

Oh Riddle... if it were only so easy to preserve one's sanity... all totalled it was nearly 3 doz [three eggs short]

Did anyone read the article in Poultry World on Orloffs? I only heard there was an article and wondered. I have read a few articles in the past and they are often disappointing.
