Hmm. I found him to be quite timely with emails... once a day only tho. And quite nice to deal with

Actually, I didn't have a problem with getting in touch with him. He always responded rather quickly to my emails...usually within a few days. He just never was able to produce any pics for me to see. And I'm just not the type to drop $100+ for eggs from birds that I haven't seen, even in pics.

I don't have any addresses, but I just wanted to pop in here and say something about my two orloffs.

I got some RO by accident, it was a feedstore mixup and I actually rehomed most of them as they were flying out of my coop's pen. I had two that remained and were low ranking, so they were pecked on by the other birds and pecked themselves, so they were always looking terrible and I really didn't see what everyone liked about these birds.

WELL...............................mine went broody, together, and raised a little pack of chicks for me...together. And during that time, they were like the ugly ducklings....they turned gorgeous! With all their feathers in, they look stunning.
When I returned them to the flock, they were ready to challenge anyone going near their babies and no one DARED peck them. They are now my prettiest birds and the chicks are like their own little flock. Their "babies" actually are not orloffs, but I am beginning to wish they were!

No, they had been broody for awhile when I gave them the eggs and had not layed any for awhile. The chicks are about three to four months old and they still have not gotten back to laying. Before that, they were laying very well.

Rarefeathers farm on page 23 has orloffs like mine look now. Mine have just a little bit darker colors than most of hers. One of the two does not have the face feathers, perhaps she is incorrect. That is how we tell the two apart. The other one looks just like Rarefeathers birds. Believe it or not, she was so ugly before that her name is actually Unpretty. Now that name is a joke, she is the prettiest one. After she molted, she never really grew back any tail before now, so she was always kinda like a plucked chicken ready for the table, running around.

My roo is a Buff Orpington and I don't know where there are any Russian Orloff roosters around here, not sure how a BO/RO cross would turn out. I would not mind having some more orloffs now though.
