Hi, all! I'm a Russian Orloff enthusiast, too! I'd love to post the pictures I have of my 1-month-old male and female, but I don't know how to post pics in a post-reply. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks!
I personally love the game bloodlines of the Orloffs, evident in their beautiful erect postures and long necks. Even at one month old, my Orloff chicks are standing as erect as possible with their necks held long and high. Spangled Orloffs are the most beautiful Orloff variety, in my opinion. Other color varieties look too much like Ameracaunas or Easter Eggers, even though the combs are different.
Does anyone know how heat-hardy Orloffs are? I know that they are excellently cold-hardy, but I have heard that they also will stand in water on hot days to cool off: don't know if that's an indication of heat-hardiness or just plain desperation.
Thanks, and long live the Orloffs!
