I am actually looking to sell mine. They are about 5 months old. I'm looking for a better egg producing hen, although I love the novelty of these. They haven't begun laying yet.

Speaking of laying how is everyone's hens doing? Mine took forever to start, but she was a late-season hatch and then in a coop with no supplemental light or heat, so I don't blame her. After she started laying, I got a nice medium sized egg almost every day. She did attempt to go broody often, but was easy to break from it and I would sometimes only miss a couple of days of eggs. Something got her this fall, though.

Very sad about it.

does anyone know where i can get hatching eggs? i've sent a couple of pms to people here on byc, but would like to know if you all of know of folks selling hatching eggs.

Hey folks, I've not been around in a long time as it's been a pretty busy year. But, I was wondering if any of you have had this problem. I just have the one orloff rooster. He's around 20months old. He has lost his tail feathers so he basically looks like he just has the rump, sorta like an araucana. I'm not sure what it's suppose to look like under his other feathers back there but I've never seen mites or anything, but I've not really investigated it like I should. I thought that maybe he was molting or the girls were picking them. If he did molt or still molting, how long should it take for them to start growing back out? I miss seeing those nice sheeny-green feathers back there

. Also, does anyone know if anyone in the US has black white splash orloffs? Like the ones here http://www.russianorloffs.com/#!gallery one page 7/14

Hi,
I believe your rooster is just molting. Mine did the same...it took them about two months or so for their feather to grow back.
I'm not aware of any black white splash RO's in the states. To me the one's on that website seem to be some sort of cross.

Ok, I was going to wait to post until after I bought some but I couldn't. I should be picking my new flock of Spangled Bantams on Saturday! I'm very excited. One Rooster, One Cockerel, and 6 Pullets and Hens!!!
