I bought 3 rustic rocks from tractor supply around 4 weeks ago. They were all supposed to be pullets although I know there is still a chance for a roo. I noticed some differences of one versus the other 2 last night when we went to clean their brooder. I have one who's comb and wattles are turning red while the other 2 are still pale. And the legs are wider and not as dark as the other 2 which I've been told is how you can some times tell with barred rocks. I know these are crosses of barred rocks and Rhode Island reds but if anyone has some insight that would be helpful. The first picture, the one I'm suspicious of is behind the other one and the second picture (leg picture) is on the left. Thanks

The comb is suspicious, but I would give it more time to be sure. Some pullets do comb up early.
Right? I'm trying not to be upset cause I already have 3 cockerals out in the coop and run and I didn't want a 4th one. But to be honest if this ends up being a rooster and is friendly enough I'll probably sell my splash marran cause he is a little too feisty for my liking. My other 2 are easter eggers and they are my sweet baby boys. I wish the picture would show just how red the comb is cause in person it's so much more red.

If it's very red then I think it probably is a cockerel. Not what you want to read, I'm sure.

Well, it is what it is. As long as he is friendly he will get to stay. I just won't keep roosters that will go after my or my son.
I have the same policy. If they attack me or my dogs they will go to freezer camp. I'm not willing to breed/sell/rehome a cockerel that has aggression issues. I know some people will argue against this saying they can be tamed. My stance is, (unprovoked) aggression is a trait that will likely be inherited by future offspring, so I'd only be adding to the problem.

Exactly! No one wants an aggressive rooster especially if you want to hatch the eggs.
