Well- right now I've got 10 buff orps... Which at this time I can only take word that there's 5... So 5 roosters and 5 hens right now. They're all in a box (going out today) that's giving them about 1.5-2 sqft per bird. No fights yet and they're 9 weeks.

The leghorn/r island red mix- appears to be 3 and 3...

I think I'll keep your method and go 4-5 per rooster... If more; I won't tell them chickens for dinner

No. If you're going to have multiple roosters, you need at least 8-10 hens for each rooster.
