I started off with two baby chicks and then I went and got two hens. Well I went out of town and brought my babies with me, not knowing they would grow so fast in only 2 weeks time. They out grew my traveling cage and I didn't want them to suffer the trip home. Also one of my pullets became a rooster and where I live I can't take the chance of having one, and it was already starting to get loud. I found them both a good good home and they will be happy and well taken care of. My rooster was so loving and cool, he would just jump right on top of your shoulder and sit there. I will miss my babies.

My rooster in his new home and looking very happy and comfortable!

I will miss my chickens but I know I did the best thing for them!

I considered getting two more chicks or even just one more, I still have there feeders n stuff, but I do have two hens. They are great! Production reds and lay great! I guess I shouldn't of gotten the babies and then went and bought two hens. Maybe later when I have a bigger home out in the country and it is legal, lol I will get two of more chicks to add to my flock. There are many here for sale and it is so tempting. I wanted to keep my pullet but it was both or none at all to give the rooster a new home. I hate replacing animals when I couldn't keep them in the first place, it makes me feel guilty and a bad parent. I will be excited for the future and hopefully in the next two years my hubby and I will get that dream ranch!

Awww, I'm sorry. I am in the same boat, two of my ten babies I believe are roos, so if they are, they will have to go to a friends. Its hard, you grow to love them so much.

SO THANKFUL MY FRIEND IS KEEPING ME UPDATED WITH PICTURES OF MY BABIES. I picked a great home for them! Sucks though makes me miss them even more.

What a good chicken Momma you are. You put your babies welfare before your own.

Be proud of what you did and look forward to your new chickies, who will be lucky to have a Momma like you :) x

Another new picture from my friend. He named the rooster Camo and Camo is learning how to crow.

How neat you are getting photo updates! Looks like you picked a great place for them!
