i just found a little stuff duck to put in with chick but she/he wants me to hold him/her.

Hold him/her then... it won't hurt and it can help... Are you sure it is warm enough in the container you have the chick in? If they are cold they will chirp constantly too... as for the stuffed animal, I've found that it doesn't really matter WHAT it is but the softer and easier to "nest" under the better.

yes its warm in there.... i heated the toys up and quieted the baby for the night..

You can also give a mirror. So the little one doesn't feel alone, and has someone to talk to.
