Sad.

I'm so sorry about your chickens.

We lost some chickens a few months back in the day light. The only thing around was human predators to the north of us. We put pad locks on the gates and actually locked them. Before that part of the fence had been cut away and rolled up. It wasn't where we could see that it was cut. So, I don't know how long it had been cut, and I don't know how many chickens they stole.

I can't find where anything has gotten under, so apparently it's going over. I just think it's so weird -- my girls were never ones to keep their mouths shut... I've heard NOTHING, and they're not that far from my bedroom.

Any updates today?

I am sorry for your losses....if it were animal, the dog would naturally go off at the smell of it...human sounds more likely....and someone you know for the dog not to be barking.

I hope you catch the culprit soon. Maybe bring the girls inside for a couple of nights while you stalk to coop area.

Are you noticing they are gone in the morning after they have been locked up.
Are they locked up 24/7 or do you notice they are gone when you lock them up at night. If they seem to be go missing during the day I say you probably have a hawk. The few feathers they left here were minimal. I lost over a 3 week period.
