Sad :(

I most certainly will. It is either going to be

Why did you start helping the ducklings when it wasn't even day 28? it takes 28-30 days for full incubation then another 24-36 hrs for ducklings to hatch once they internally pip.

Because all the others had died and as I could not see movement for days with these two assumed (wrongly) that these two were. there was an awful smell coming from the incubator even after i removed the other eggs and cleaned it so thought it had to be these two as well.

If I had know for one minute that these two were still alive then I wouldn't have helped them. Inexperience shows at times!

But don't worry, I don't think that I shall be trying again.

Just got home and one had passed and the other is half way out and peeping blue murder. To nervous as yet to be pleased. I was so upset about losing the rest. I kept an eye on the temp and the humidity which was a bit up and down I feel. And sooo many conflicting advice on humidity. Not sure I would go through this again! I will update on little Solo later and I hope he survives because I feel guilty for stepping in and helping. Thanks for all the good wishes it is appreciated. X

Just looked again and can see that this little ones feet are over its head! No wonder it couldn't short it self out!

Yep let it finish now and then begin to look for a friend for this one because it will be very lonely and they do so much better with one of their own. In the mean time after it leaves the bator, a stuffed animal to cuddle with and a non breakable mirror will help. I look forward to seeing pics of this lil one.

Thank you so much for the advice. Little Solo is still hanging on. I am concerned that it might kick out before the took is absorbed. Mind you with one of his legs over his head, I don't think he could. X

Take a small round bowl and put a soft wash cloth in it and put the duckling into it this will keep it from kicking around to much before it's ready to come out of the egg. [inside your bator is what I mean]

I am excited for you Jen. Keep us posted!
Miss Lydia, thank you for the valued advice, I have done just that now. The took has gone down considerably since last night so I am going that it will be absorbed today at some point. He is very vocal now lol!
