I have had pullets "crow" too. It turned out they were just testing out their "grown up" voice. I'm not very experienced with chickens, but it seems to me everyone has differing opinions on how to tell which is which but it seems to me you've just got to wait and see if you get eggs.I wouldnt go by the comb at all i have many with light combs that ended up to be roos after. Same with birds that get combs fast turned out being pullets later. One thing you can be sure of when the time comes if it lays eggs its a pullet if it crows its a rooster. But saddle feathers are a great indication aslong as you dont confuse them for something else.
x2Hens don't have true hanging saddle feathers, sorry. They do sometimes have an optical illusion making the feathers look pointed when in actuality the feather itself is nice and rounded.
