Saddles in Heat

I’m expecting a heat wave (around 100 degrees Fahrenheit) this week and I’m wondering if I should take the saddles off my hens to keep them cooler, or if it really makes a difference. I do have one hen who is missing quite a few feathers (whereas the others were just starting to show a bit of wear when I put the saddles on) so I’m also wondering if the saddle on her could help keep the heat off her skin.
Any other tips for heat, especially shade, are appreciated as well :)
Thanks!

Unless they seem to be causing issues personally I’d keep them on. Chickens are pretty resilient in the heat. Shade, ventilation, and water are key.

Going to give the opposite advice - and I would check for parasites too, they can get established under those aprons with no way for the bird even pick them off.

But we have been well above 100 all week and that is dang hot. I would not want anything trapping heat.
