Safe to eat eggs?

Also I called a vet and they wont tell me anything without bringing her in. They want $60 just to walk in the door. Wont give any info without seeing them.

Now might be a good time to think about worming them with something like Safeguard (fenbendazole) or Valbazen (albendazole). A feedstore would probably try to sell you Wazine (piperazine), but it only gets roundworms.

I just looked at the meds. It is called Duramycin.

Everything I've read suggests a withdrawl period of 21 days for Duramycin. Discard the eggs; don't feed them back to the hens.

And with that withdrawal time it makes perfect sense to de-worm.

I am trying to find that dewormer. Tractor supply only has the wazine it looks like. I do not feed the eggs to the hens.

I am just piling them up to discard. Thank you all for your help!

It's sold as horse wormer or dog wormer, I don't think you'll find it in the chicken section. The horse wormer is in a tube and is easier to administer/dose than the dog version.

My hens were on bacterial medicine last Friday and finished this past Tuesday. I would like to know when it will be safe to eat their eggs. Its such a shame that they are going to waste

The length of treatment of Duramycin is 7-14 days. It sounds like you treated them for only 5 days. Did you use 1 TB per gallon dosage. If looking for the wormer fenbendazole, Tractor Supply usually has it in both SafeGuard equine paste and in SafeGuard Liquid Goat wormer brands. I haven't seen Valbazen at my TSC, but you can find it online easily, though it costs plenty more.

It could be called safe guard or panacur. I'm not sure which one is the most recent name they use.
